【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedforevaluatingtherelativeeffectsoftemperatureongeotextilesmanufacturedfromdifferentpolymers,byadifferentmanufacturingprocess,orboth.Duringshippingandstorage,thegeotextilemaybeexposedtoabnormaltemperatures.Thefabriccouldbetestedatthesetemperaturestodeterminethedetrimentaleffectsoftheseconditionsonthestrengthproperties.Thistestmethodmayalsobeusedtoevaluatethecycliceffectsoftemperature(freeze-thaw),thatis,samplescanbeconditionedtobelownormaltemperatures(belowfreezing)andthentoabovenormaltemperatures(elevatedtemperatures)foragivennumberofcycles.Strengthcharacteristicscanbedeterminedafterthesecyclicexposures.Mostnonwoven,woven,andcompositefabriccanbetestedbythismethod.Modificationofthetechniquesislikelytobenecessaryforanyfabrichavingastrengthinexcessof179kg/cm(1000lb/in.)width.Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedforknittedfabrics.Thistestmethodisanindextestmethodandisnotrecommendedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,sinceinformationonbetweenlaboratoryprecisionhasnotbeenestablished.Insomecasesthepurchaserandsellermayhavetotestacommercialshipmentofoneormoregeotextilesbythebestavailablemethod,eventhoughthemethodhasnotbeenrecommendedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments.Acomparativetestperformedasdirectedin5.5.1maybeadvisable.IncaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingTestMethodD4594foracceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensthatareashomogenousaspossibleandthatarefromalotofmaterialofthetypeinquestion.Thetestspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingStudent''st-testforunpaireddataandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforethetestingisbegun.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinthelightoftheknownbias.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesaprocedurefordeterminingtheeffectsofclimatictemperatureonthetensilestrengthandelongationpropertiesofgeotextiles.1.2TheeffectoftemperatureonthestabilityofgeotextilesisreportedasthechangeintensilestrengthandelongationbetweentestsperformedasdirectedinTestMethodD5035,inthestandardatmospherefortestingtextiles,andtestsperformedunderconditionsatwhichthegeotextileisexpectedtoperforminthefield.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsareprovidedforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.See7.1.1-7.1.3.
